| Bill O'Reilly and France |
[Aug. 25th, 2004|03:11 pm] |
This is great. Bill O'Reilly was interviewing a Canadian official, and suggested that if Canada were to grant asylum to draft dodgers, it would suffer a boycott similar to the one O'Reilly promoted against France. He said that France had lost billions of dollars, according to the Paris Business Review. Only one problem. There is NO Paris Business Review...
... or is there?

| Rush Limbaugh: Still a Big Fat Idiot. |
[Aug. 18th, 2004|02:02 pm] |
So, as reported on the Al Franken show a couple minutes ago, Rush Limbaugh apparently recently said that he does not think homeless people have the right to vote. He commented on a recent drive to register homeless people to vote, saying (not an exact quote, unfortunately) "What, you don't have to have an address to vote? Lemme go look at my voter registration card. Well, I guess if you're a Democrat you can do whatever you want."
I know that there's far too many answers to this question, but what in God's name is wrong with this man? Listening to the quote, it sounds like he HONESTLY believes that homeless people can't vote. Why do people actually believe what this man says???
ARGHHHHHH!!!!!! |

[Aug. 18th, 2004|12:15 pm] |
Well, I'm going to indulge the huge Nerd inside of me for the weekend. Headed to the biggest Nerd gathering I know of, GenCon. Four days of non-stop gaming. Board games, roleplaying, and general Nerdly activities.

| Exercise |
[Jun. 9th, 2004|03:05 pm] |
Well, if I do end up getting cats, I guess I'll have to get this book.
I mean, really, who DOESN'T want to get their exercise like this:

I'm really looking forward to the "dead cat lift".
Hmmm... Ok, maybe I shouldn't get cats. |

| Irony on the air. |
[May. 12th, 2004|12:23 pm] |
Does anyone else find the horrible, repetitive Supercuts commercials on Air America Radio to be slightly ironic?
I'm just saying, it's wierd when you've got a commercial with a mother whose dream is that her son will become a big corporate executive on a leftist radio network. |

| Disney - Not Just Making Crappy Kid Flicks... |
[May. 5th, 2004|09:22 am] |
They're also preventing the public from seeing (possibly) important films.
Disney squashes Michael Moore's new film.
I love the reason Disney gives for this:
"Mr. Moore's film is deemed to be against Disney's interests not because of the company's business dealings with the government but because Disney caters to families of all political stripes and believes Mr. Moore's film, which does not have a release date, could alienate many."
As if the majority of America actually connects Disney to Miramax. Argh. |

Why in God's name must they have that shrill harpy Randi Rhodes every afternoon!? She causes me to change the channel for the hours between Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo. |

| ARRRRGH!!! |
[Apr. 29th, 2004|02:16 pm] |
Apparently Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns 8 ABC affiliates (among about 60 total stations), is forcing all of its stations to preempt Nightline tomorrow night. Why? Because Ted Koppel is going to be reading the names of all the U.S. servicemen and women killed in Iraq to date.
Are you kidding me?????
Here's the story. |

| High-life vs. Real life |
[Apr. 28th, 2004|11:59 am] |
So recently I chose a high-paying, somewhat morally corrupt job over a move to California in search of a low-paying, also somewhat morally corrupt but much more personally fulfilling job. I went with stability, my friends, and the ability to save some money for the future. Of course, once I started the job, I moved into an apartment that cost way more than I can afford and still be able to save money. So there goes that benefit. And I've recently discover that I won't be getting some perks that I was led to believe I would receive with this job.
Of course, now I have a very nice apartment, I'm still close to my friends, and of course this job looks great on my resume. So it was still probably the best decision.
But sometimes I think about the sun shining on the Pacific Ocean as I sit on the beach, and I wonder. |
